Where are all the muscovy ducks?

Picture
There used to be lots of Muscovy Ducks in Lauderdale Isles...
But now they seem to be scarce--Ducks are a primary food source for alligators.

Look who's in town

Picture
Spotted several times in the Cobia Canal, between Flamingo & Gulfstream Lanes, in June & July of 2012, approx 5-6 feet long

Here's Another

Picture
Spotted in the Dolphin Canal between Key Largo & Marathon, July 21,2012, a 6 footer.

"GATOR BOYS" EPISODE

Last year, there was an episode on Animal Planet's "GATOR BOYS" filmed right here in Lauderdale Isles.  They removed an 8  foot gator from behind a house on Key Largo Lane. And according to this show, a neighbor had been feeding it.  ( This show repeats often on Animal Planet - the episode was Season 01, Episode 5).
